IELTS Scoring System:
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to assess the language proficiency of non-native English speakers. It is widely used for immigration, work, and study purposes in English-speaking countries. IELTS scores are reported on a scale from 0 to 9, and they reflect the test-taker’s proficiency in four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
Scoring Scale:
- Band 0: Did not attempt the test.
- Bands 1-3: Limited User.
- Bands 4-5: Modest User.
- Bands 6-7: Competent User.
- Bands 8-9: Expert User.
Individual Module Scores: Each of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is scored separately on a scale of 0 to 9. These scores are then averaged to calculate the overall band score.
Overall Band Score: The overall band score is the average of the four individual module scores, rounded to the nearest half-band.
